ESPNFC recycles World Cup poll for USMNT in the Gold Cup

Before tomorrow’s USMNT friendly in Chile, ESPNFC has a post focusing on the future of the team. There are several poll questions in the post, asking about Jurgen Klinsmann as a coach, the USMNT’s highest rated young player, and the USMNT’s most important player.

There is also a poll about the 2015 Gold Cup, which takes place this summer, and whoever put the poll together pretty clearly used the same poll during last summer’s World Cup. Check it out.

What’s so bad about this, you might ask? Well…the Gold Cup only has 12 teams, so “last 16” doesn’t even make much sense. Also, the US is also the defending champion and one of the favorites to win, so not having an option for “finalist” or “winner” is silly.

Soccer: America’s sport of the future for the last 30 years. Unfortunately, we’ve still got a ways to go.
