VIDEO: Carlos Tevez Scores Sublime Goals, Later Breaks Opponent’s Leg

Carlos Tevez made his way back home to Argentina to play for his first ever senior club Boca Juniors after a very successful season in Italy playing for Serie A champions and Champions League runners-up Juventus.

Keeping with his goal scoring streak that he had in Italy, he continues to score goals for his new club scoring two sublime goals against Argentinos Juniors.

His first goal came from outside the box and from a difficult angle for Tevez as he shot across his body for a rocket that found it’s way into the left corner past the outstretched Argentinos Juniors goalkeeper.

Tevez wasn’t done there as in the second half of the game he scored his second to put up Boca up by 2-0. “El Apache” managed to stay onside, obtained a nice through ball from Nicolás Lodeiro that enabled him to go one-on-one with keeper Adrián Gabbarini, and unleashed a perfect, hard shot that Gabbarini had no chance on.

Just a minute afterwards, Argentinos Juniors’ Ezequiel Ham scored to reduce their deficit by one. Unfortunately for Ham, he would not have a chance to score his second of the day as Carlos Tevez obliterated his leg.

Tevez and Ham were both looking to gain possession of a loose ball, Tevez delivered a clumsy challenge and stepped on Ham’s shin, breaking his tibia and fibula in the process. Here’s video of the challenge:

Ouch. Obviously, we wish Ezequiel Ham a speedy recovery and hope he is back on the pitch very soon.

Surprisingly, Tevez was not shown any card, not a red nor a yellow for his awful challenge on Ham. As he already had a yellow from earlier, any card would have been enough to see Carlos Tevez off to the showers early, as he should have been.

Tevez himself was distraught about the incident and said after the game, “It makes me angry because I went for the ball, it was neither malicious nor my intention to hurt him… I’m sad because I didn’t want to do anything bad to him. I’ve never hurt anyone, this is my first time. Now I’m going to see him and apologise, as I should do.”

As for the game, Boca would go on to win the match 3-1 and sit on top of the Primera División with 55 points, five points above second place San Lorenzo, who have a game in hand.
