VIDEO: Mathieu gives Barcelona the lead but Ronaldo toe pokes equalizer for Real Madrid at halftime of El Clasico

El Clasico has had a start, stop, start, stop flow to things. One teams seems to have the advantage at first, then the other team takes over and then back again.

Barcelona drew first blood by one of the more unlikely players in the game. Jeremy Mathieu, the center back for Barcelona drove through and headed home Lionel Messi’s free kick in the 19th minute.

Then 12 minutes later, Real Madrid came back with some beautiful, free flowing passing. Karim Benzema received the ball in the box and back heeled Cristiano Ronaldo, who was on a run. Ronaldo toe poked the ball home in the 31st minute.

It is even at 1-1 at halftime but I’m sure that it won’t stay that way. Going to be a hectic 45 minutes.
