VIDEOS: Cristiano Ronaldo punches and kicks his way to straight red

Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid faced Cordoba and Cordoba gave Real Madrid problems. A Sergio Ramos handball caused Cordoba to take the lead 1-0 after 2 minutes. Real eventually equalized but everyone will be talking about Ronaldo receiving a straight red card late in the game for kicking an opposing player.

While he got the red for kicking, he really should’ve received the straight red for this punch, well slap, thrown just minutes before.

Then Ronaldo threw in the kick to cap off his early exit.

Yeah, the Cordoba player holds his face as he goes down after being kicked but that doesn’t absolve Ronaldo for what he did. Ronaldo kicked him and deserved the straight red. He probably deserves to be suspended for more games but we’ll wait and see if that happens.

By the way, Real won as they were down Ronaldo 2-1 after a Cordoba handball in the box resulted in a Gareth Bale PK.

UPDATE: Cristiano Ronaldo posted on his Twitter account addressing the incident.

In English it reads, “I apologise to all and especially to Edimar by my reckless act in the [match] today.”
