VIDEO: Man United score own goal, quickly equalize and take lead in Champions League play

Manchester United really made things entertaining and interesting in their first Champions League game in over a year. United is in the playoff round against Belgium’s Club Brugge and thanks to Michael Carrick and his own goal, Brugge had the lead early on in the first game of the series.

The lead for Brugge was short lived as Manchester United scored just five minutes later thanks to a brilliant individual effort by newly signed Memphis, scoring his first goal of his Man United career.

After another brilliant goal by Memphis to make it 2-1 United, United fans should still at least be a little bit worried. Brugge has that away goal they kind of desperately needed and that may prove critical in this series. Manchester United is still the overwhelming favorite to advance and go to the Group Stage but one can’t help but think that Brugge has a tiny bit of hope to hold on to in order to upset the English giants.
