The only Welsh team in the EPL, Swansea City has hit a rough patch or two during the departure of Michael Laudrup. Swansea won their first major trophy as a team by winning the Capital One Cup in 2013. Since then, they have struggled when compared to Swansea’s potential. After the Capital One Cup win, Swansea was projected to go after Everton for a Europa League spot but it didn’t take. The squad didn’t have enough depth to do both Europa League and EPL and wound up finishing 12th and struggling in a couple stretches in the season.

This year, Gary Monk is shaping the team into his own and Swansea doesn’t have Europa League so they should be able to improve. They got Sigurdsson back after his time at Tottenham and the rest of their transfer moves helped the depth problem. There’s no doubt Swansea can crack the top half of the table. Maybe a European spot is asking for too much but they’ll be in the next best teams discussion.
