VIDEO: Steven Gerrard SENT OFF after less than a minute after stepping on Herrera

I think stunned silence was the appropriate way to describe the atmosphere at Anfield as Steven Gerrard was shown a straight red card about 45 seconds after coming on as a substitute for the injured Adam Lallana.

Everyone including me, those at Anfield and those on TV was stunned at the red card but there really was no debate, Gerrard stomped on Ander Herrera’s ankle and saw red.

This definitely puts a black mark in the Liverpool career of Steven Gerrard. I don’t know what was flowing through his mind when this happened but he embarrassed everyone who has rooted for him his entire Liverpool career. I know Liverpool fans chant, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” but it might take some time to forgive him for this.
