VIDEO: Wicked deflection gives Peru 1-0 lead over USMNT

Omar Gonzalez was given the start for the USMNT friendly against Peru, giving him a shot to solidify his starting position going forward to the all-important matchup with Mexico for the CONCACAF berth in the Confederations Cup to be held in 2017 in Russia.

It took just 20 minutes for many to wonder what the heck happened, as Gonzalez was done in harshly after making the mistake to give space to the Peruvian attack. After giving that space up, Gonzalez stepped up and right in to the path of a rocket shot.

What happened next led to the 1-0 scoreline as it stands:
