Once again we've asked our esteemed hockey bloggers to rank the NHL from top to bottom as the smoke has cleared from the Olympic break Below are some things that stood out:
- The top 4 remain the same but in a different order with the Capitals climbing to one and the Devils, Sharks, and Blackhawks all falling back.
- There were 2 teams that really moved in this rankings but in different directions. The Senators jumped up 11 spots to number ten and the Oilers dropped all the way down to last place, a drop of 10 spots.
- Coming off the gold medal coaching performance, Mike Babcock now finds himself with another tough task at hand as the Red Wings are on the cusp of missing the playoff after 2 straight years of making it to the Stanley Cup.
- Hockey in the sun belt is struggling, both in terms of attendance and record. The two Florida teams as well as Atlanta and Carolina are ranked 21 or below.
