Boston Bruins Look For First Home Win Of Season At TD Garden Tomorrow Night

If only the Boston Bruins could elect to play all of their regular season games on the road.

Five games into the season, the Bruins have yet to win a game at TD Garden and have won both of their road games. The Bruins started off the season with three games at home, all losses, to the Winnipeg Jets, Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning. After the three-game skid, the Bruins went on the road and scored victories over the Colorado Avalanche and the Arizona Coyotes.

The Bruins have a chance to get in the win column at home tomorrow night when the Philadelphia Flyers come to Boston for their only home game of the week. According to TiqIQ.com, Bruins tickets on the secondary market have an average ticket price of $92.73 with a get-in price of $35. Those attending the game can discount Boston parking through ParkWhiz.com, where two options starting from less than $10 are within a mile of the arena.

Each Bruins game has been a high-scoring affair, as every game thus far has had at least six goals scored. Eight goals were scored in the season opener, followed by six goals scored in Game 2 and nine goals in Game 3. Games 4 and 5 each had eight goals scored, both road Bruins victories.

So far, David Krejci leads the team with nine points, scoring four goals and dishing out five assists. Torey Krug leads the team with six assists and is in second in total points with six, while Patrice Bergeron trails by one point in third with three goals and two assists.

The Bruins need a better performance from the defense and goaltender Tuukka Rask. Rask has had four starts, only has had one victory and has given up 4.29 goals against per game.

Boston has unusually tame expectations this season from a franchise with 69 NHL playoff appearances and six Stanley Cup championships. After a division championship was followed up with a second-round elimination two seasons ago, the Bruins missed out on the postseason for the first time in eight seasons last year. TD Garden has to get back to being the environment it was in previous seasons, where teams would find it difficult to travel to Boston and escape with a win. It’s early, but it doesn’t seem this is the season for a stingy defensive group as the Bruins may be headed towards many high-scoring shootouts during throughout the season.
