Chris Paul Is The Latest Clippers’ PG Injured

The Los Angeles Clippers’ point guard corp is getting thinner as Chris Paul is the latest to be hit with the injury bug.

Paul is listed as day-to-day after suffering a hamstring injury during the fourth quarter of the Clippers’ recent win over the Los Angeles Lakers. And although MRI results were negative on Paul’s injury, he is questionable for today’s MLK matchup against the New Jersey Nets.

But as stated before, the Clippers’ are thin at the point guard position.

Aside from Paul, Eric Bledsoe is still recovering from surgery, and Mo Williams is listed day-to-day with a right foot injury. This leaves rookie Travis Leslie, D-League call up Courtney Fortson, Randy Foye and Chauncey Billups to lead the team on the court.

The Clippers will be more than OK with Billups running the point in this shortened season.  But with players succumbing to early season injuries, Billups also falling will leave the Clippers in a world of hurt.

And seeing how the Clippers’ schedule is about to get very hectic (upcoming back-to-back-to-back games and four games in five nights) this will put the 14-year pro Billups in a position to play more minutes which might just add to the possibility of him getting hurt.

Regardless, the Clippers are just loaded with talent at other positions (namely Caron Butler, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan) Los Angeles should be able to weather the storm should CP3 be out for an extended period of time.
