Duke scored three TDs in 26 seconds [Video]

Duke's magical season continued Saturday in Durham in a way you really just have to see to believe and appreciate. Duke had blown a 10-0 lead earlier in the game and North Carolina State took a 13-10 lead in the third quarter before the Blue Devils regained the lead heading in to the fourth quarter. Midway through the fourth quarter the Wolfpack took the lead but Duke had some tricks up their sleeves.

Duke scored three touchdowns in a span of 26 seconds. If an NC State fan had walked away to use the restroom, they may have been extremely confused by the time they got back. It started innocently enough with a touchdown run by Brandon Connette to nudge Duke ahead 24-20 with 3:31 to play. On the first play of the ensuing drive for NC State, Brandon Mitchell had a pass tipped and intercepted by DeVon Edwards, who returned it 25 yards for a touchdown to give Duke a quick 11-point lead. On the next possession the Wolfpack switched quarterbacks but saw an identical result, with Pete Thomas throwing down field only to be picked off by — guess who — DeVon Edwards, who once again was off to the races for 45 yards for another pick-six.

Duke scored the 38-20 win, leaving NC State scratching their heads on the way back to Raleigh. Edwards was the hero for Duke. In addition to his two interceptions for touchdowns, Edwards also had a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Duke is now 7-2 and still in the ACC Coastal Division hunt thanks in part to Virginia Tech opening the door for the entire division. Duke plays a sinking Miami team next week, while NC State must now win out to become eligible for a bowl game.
