Manziel throws three first quarter TDs, leads Aggies to victory

Johnny Manziel was listed as questionable going into the Vanderbilt game on Saturday. In fact, with an injured shoulder has was called a "game-time decision". Vanderbilt's head coach James Franklin wishes the decision was made to hold Manziel out of the game because Manziel skewered the Commodores defense.

In the first quarter alone, Manziel threw three TD passes to three different receivers as he led A&M to a 21-0 lead on the strength of over 250 yards in that first quarter. Manziel was more measured than normal as he was looking for the sidelines and sliding before contact due to the injured shoulder but his accuracy certainly didn't take a hit.

For the game, Manziel finished with 305 yards passing on 25 of 35 for 4 TDs. Vanderbilt pulled to within 11 at half-time but the Aggies came out of half-time and scored two TDs to go up 42-17 before Matt Joeckel took over for Manziel.

After last weeks loss to Auburn, Manziel took a hit in our weekly Heisman poll. He dropped from second to third and went from receiving 29.63% of the vote to just 7.41%. With this performance, Manziel has put himself in solid position as he waits to see if front runners Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston falter.
