Bucks are reportedly shopping Greg Monroe ‘hard’

The Milwaukee Bucks are shopping Greg Monroe less than a year after signing him as free agent, Michael Scotto of Sheridan Hoops and the Associated Press reports.

Monroe, 26, signed a three-year, $50 million contract with the Bucks last offseason after he spent the first five seasons of his career in Detroit. Monroe averaged 15.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per 29.3 minutes last season, his fewest minutes averaged since his rookie year with the Pistons.

And while Monroe has been an effective scorer and rebounder for most of his career with at least 30 doubles-doubles the past five seasons, he hasn’t provided much rim protection. The Bucks got more blocks from starting forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (113) and backup center John Henson (109) than they got from Monroe (67).

Still, a player of Monroe’s caliber will be desired by teams willing to make a trade this offseason. It might even happen before Thursday’s draft. Stay tuned.
