30 Rock: TV’s most hockey savvy show (VIDEO)

I brought up 30 Rock earlier this month regarding NBC and their hockey coverage as an example of fantastic PR for the league. I’m a huge fan of the show — most of my friends have told me I’m a real life Liz Lemon, and I’m not sure how to take that — and have always gotten a kick out of catching random NHL references. I’m sure that they’re not just plugging the NHL on NBC (though it’s pretty useful name-dropping), but whoever the puckheads are on the writing staff really need to moonlight over at NBC Sports.

I’m not the only person who has caught 30 Rock and their hockey love. New York Magazine has edited together a video featuring some of the many, many hockey moments from the show. I’m with Wysh though on this one — where is the Senators’ crowd pump-up song? I must admit I nearly fell off of my couch when I saw that for the first time. That’s the beauty of 30 Rock. They wedge the reference in where you least expect the connection to be made.
