NHL talks to resume Tuesday

Written by Jeffrey Kleiman on .

After the League and the Players Association met in a secret location on Saturday night (a meeting that went into the wee hours), many were left wondering how well the talks went. Now there's an answer.

According to sources who had spoken with ESPN's Pierre LeBrun, both sides will meet on Tuesday in New York City. With the lockout reaching 50+ days and with the NHL canceling the Winter Classic on Friday, fans have grown apathetic. This may be the final chance both sides will have to secure more than half of a season's worth of games while salvaging the All-Star Game, scheduled for January 26th and 27th in Columbus.

I'm not so sure salvaging the All-Star Game is such a worthy pursuit, compared to salvaging the season.  Of course, it's a moot point unless they actually do manage to play some of the season to begin with...
