Video: President Obama comments on the NHL lockout

Written by David Rogers on .

Barack Obama appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday night and was asked a series of questions about the economy, foreign policy and the debates he recently had against Mitt Romney. Later in the show questions were pulled in from Facebook, one of which asked Obama to "pull some strings" to end the NHL lockout.

Solid answer, Mr. President. Obama reminds the owners and players that they make money because of fan support, concluding that the two sides should be able to "figure this out". He ended with a "get this done".

The question came from a "Mike in Los Angeles". Great question, Mike. It was fun to see the President respond to an issue that has been troubling hockey fans for the past couple months.

@tj_bayer We'd love to see @MittRomney sound off on the NHL lockout as well.

@awfulannouncing keep tabs on the @TheRealTheTorg because according to his website legal action may be taken. Maybe against @KirkHerbstreit

@awfulannouncing did he blame the lockout on an anti-Bettman YouTube video or George W. Bush? #RomneyRyan2012
