Henrik and Daniel Sedin sign matching contract extensions

In further proof that the Sedin twins really do have to do everything together, Henrik and Daniel Sedin have signed coordinating contracts with the Vancouver Canucks.

According to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun, both contracts are (of course) exactly the same. Each deal is for the next four years, at $7 million a year. The Canucks now have $56 million dollars tied up in the twins. The deals will lock the Sedins in with the Canucks until they're age 37. They were drafted second and third overall in the 1999 Entry Draft after the Atlanta Thrashers drafted Patrik Stefan. By the end of this contract deal, they will have spent nearly 20 years with the same franchise. I'd be both shocked and disappointed if they didn't decide to retire as Canucks together as well.
