Broadcast Blooper: Virtual advertisement screens Miikka Kiprusoff

Look out! Advertisements are taking over hockey games!

Those 3D advertisements you see digitally placed along the glass or a relatively new invention in the NHL. In fact, numerous broadcasts still aren't using them, for one reason or another. As it turns out, the broadcasters that are using them might not be too sure how to use them.

During Fox Sports broadcast of the LA Kings – Calgary Flames game, the intent was to show a replay of a shot that flew in on Miikka Kiprusoff's cage during LA's 6-2 victory. There was just one problem – the virtual advertisement for Farmer John got in the way.

Surprisingly, Farmer John did not receive an assist on the play.
