The Chicago Blackhawks have had an incredible 2013 campaign. Unfortunately, all of their success is unraveling in the second round of the playoffs against the Detroit Red Wings. The best proof demonstrating Chicago's absurd regular season success as well as their turmoil against Detroit is the fact that their 2-0 loss in Game 4 marked the first time the team was shut out in 2013, as reported by Elliotte Friedman.
Stop for a moment and think about how absolutely ridiculous this statistic is. In 48 regular season games the Blackhawks never came up empty. They always found a way to light the lamp. In fact, it often became expected that the Blackhawks would find a goal and find a way to win.
This expectation has faded in the postseason, specifically in the second round against the Detroit Red Wing. Chicago found their usual success in Game 1, cruising to a 4-1 victory. Then the tide turned and Chicago now finds itself one game away from starting their summer. Detroit has rattled off 4-1, 3-1 and 2-0 victories against Chicago, giving the Blackhawks their first three-game losing streak in 2013.
