Mike Milbury thinks the Sabres should fire Ron Rolston

Mike Milbury was not happy about John Scott's dirty hit on Loui Eriksson. This anger boiled over and led to some critical remarks about Scott and Buffalo's coaching staff, including his belief that Ron Rolston should be fired by the Sabres.

Courtesy of SB Nation, here's video of Milbury's statements:

Rolston has already been fined by the league this season for his decision to place his enforcers out on the ice, but Milbury doesn't think that's good enough. He thinks Rolston is drowning and needs to be removed from his post.

I don't know what he's doing in the league. I'm not looking forward to it at all. I believe that players who play in this league should be able to skate and pass, not simply ignite a fight. To me, that's exactly what he does.

Pretty accurate comments from Milbury before the game even started. We hate to say it, but in this instance Milbury is the voice of reason. Yes, we really did just say that.

Milbury on Sabres head coach Ron Rolston:

The talk in Buffalo is that this guy is in over his head. I'll tell you right now, he's in way over his head. In fact, he's drowning. That's a bush-league play by a coach that doesn't know any better, doesn't have enough experience in the league, and shouldn't be afforded another game – not one. That's an embarrassment to the league, and to the Buffalo Sabres. I'm saddened by it.

Milbury on Rolston:

Before the league has a chance to step in, the Sabres should fire him. His team has no discipline… It's a mess.

Harsh words from Milbury, but it's difficult to disagree with his statements. The Sabres are a mess this year and have a 1-9-1 record after 11 games. Even without this Scott situation, a coaching change in Buffalo might be necessary simply for the fact the team needs some sort of jumpstart after a miserable start to 2013-14.
