Ben Scrivens traded to Edmonton Oilers

Ben Scrivens must've thought he had it pretty good, getting traded away from the perpetual train wreck that are the Toronto Maple Leafs to the well-oiled locomotive that are the Los Angeles Kings. Sure, he'd back-up Jonathan Quick, but the games he did appear in he would have the benefit of a competent team and coach.

Or not.

The Kings decided Scrivens was expendable after the brilliant job rookie Martin Jones has done. Jones got most of the playing time when Jonathan Quick went down, and now that Quick is healthy again, there's not much need for Scrivens, so off he goes to Edmonton. The Kings get a third-round pick back in return, and the Nashville Predators benefit as well, getting Devan Dubnyk, who should be in for a treat since Nashville employs defensemen.

The Oilers get another competent netminder's will to live that they can crush, and Ilya Bryzgalov gets someone that he can discuss the wonders of space with.
