The Los Angeles Kings find themselves in a difficult position when they skate against the Philadelphia Flyers. Due to injuries around the roster to Marian Gaborik, Trevor Lewis and most recently Anze Kopitar along with the ongoing Slava Voynov investigation, the Kings will be shorthanded on their bench. The Kings will only be able to dress 11 forwards.
Obviously, the Kings aren’t very pleased.
Per Dean Lombardi – the kings won't be at to recall a player for Kopitar spot

He said they will be playing one short tonight – DL most definitely unhappy – called the situation 'a political football '

Lombardi: "It's one thing for the player to have to pay a penalty. It's another thing for 19 other guys to have to go out there shorthanded."

The Kings have been working to find a temporary solution while the NHL investigates the Voynov case, but so far there’s no relief in sight. It’s not a very fair situation seeing as the Kings are being punished for an action they had nothing to do with. The Kings supported the Voynov suspension, but they shouldn’t have to play a man down just because the NHL’s investigation is still in process.
