Hockey Fights of the Week: 1/13 – 1/19

This edition of Hockey Fights of the Week is a pretty special one. It's not every week we get to feature a controversial line brawl along with four other extremely entertaining bouts. Say what you will about the line brawl between Calgary and Vancouver, but it'll likely be one of the most remembered moments from the 2013-14 season.

Get excited. We promise this week's fights are worth your time.

5. Paul Bissonnette (PHX) vs Anthony Peluso (WIN) – Jan 13

This should give you an idea of the strong collection of fights we have to offer this week. Normally this fight would probably be ranked quite a bit higher, but this week it barely made it on our list.

Bissonnette and Peluso have a pretty entertaining scrap where Peluso comes out on top.

4. Cody McLeod (COL) vs Eric Nystrom (NSH) – Jan 18

Nystrom makes yet another Hockey Fights of the Week appearance and once again he comes out on top in an intense battle. McLeod comes out strong and nearly overwhelms Nystrom, but the Nashville forwards hangs in there and ends up tilting the fight in his favor.

3. Eric Boulton (NYI) vs Jay Rosehill (PHI) – Jan 18

Another player we've featured on a regular basis is Rosehill. This time he tangles with Boulton, a man he previously fought back in October of 2013. Boulton was a narrow winner in their previous altercation, but this time things are a bit more even.

2. Mike Brown (SJ) vs Aaron Volpatti (WAS) – Jan 14

Brown is one tough customer. Here he controls a brief, yet intense fight with Volpatti. It's fast, it's furious and it's good enough to land the second spot on this week's list.

1. Canucks vs Flames Line Brawl – Jan 18

Was there any question that this wouldn't be the top selection this week? It was a strange yet exhilarating event which still has the hockey world talking and debating. Was this brawl good for hockey? Should these types of things be eliminated from the sport?

Now isn't the time for that debate. For now, sit back and watch a good old fashioned line brawl.
