GIF: Jonathan Bernier robs former teammate Anze Kopitar

Jonathan Bernier had one of the best saves of the season when the Toronto Maple Leafs faced the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night. Facing his old club, Bernier robbed Anze Kopitar of what looked like an easy goal. Kopitar slid the puck towards a gaping net and Bernier kicked out his leg just enough to send the puck wide.

Most have been calling this a toe save, but it looks like the puck may have struck the blade of Bernier’s skate, preventing a goal by the narrowest of margins.

Unfortunately, Bernier had to leave this game after the first period with a lower-body injury.
