Sidney Crosby offers Martin St. Louis his condolences

It’s the playoffs, where the guys on the ice will do anything to win. Off of the ice, however, they’re civilians, and oftentimes they’re friends.

The New York Rangers may be playing for their playoff lives tonight, but Martin St. Louis has more important things on his mind; his mother, France, passed away at the age of 63. Amazingly he decided to play tonight, and before the game took in a quick warm-up on the stationary bike.

Sidney Crosby made a point of going to the Rangers’ locker room, saw St. Louis, and offered a handshake and his condolences. HNIC’s omnipresent cameras captured this, but thankfully they were far enough away to keep the words private, as they should be.

The Stanley Cup is important, but sometimes there are things that are more so.
