Sidney Crosby’s wrist should be ready for training camp

It sounds like Sidney Crosby’s recovery from wrist surgery is coming along nicely. He addressed his ailing wrist this summer after revealing he was dealing with the injury for the latter half of 2013-14. So far, Crosby is progressing well and he believes he’ll be ready for training camp.

In a report from the AP, Crosby mentioned that he’s pleased with how things have been going.

“It’s good. You want to see how things progress throughout the summer once you start skating and get back to that regular routine. You want to see how it reacts so I’m happy with the way it’s gone.”

He also commented on how he’s enjoying his workouts over the summer.

“It’s just refreshing things, relearning things as you can.”

Sounds like Crosby is closing in on being 100% and he’s eager for the year to get started. That’s pretty good news for Penguins fans. There’s still a lot of time between now and the start of the regular season, but it’s encouraging to hear that Crosby is on track. He had an outstanding 104-point 2013-14 season, but he faded in the playoffs and the Penguins were eliminated after jumping out to a series lead against the Rangers.

The organization made some big changes since we last saw them in 2013-14, so it’ll be interesting to see how things pan out. Changes aside, a healthy Crosby automatically makes the Penguins a Cup contender and a team to watch this season.
