Simon Gagne will try out with the Bruins

Simon Gagne is trying to make an NHL comeback and it’s apparently starting at the Boston Bruins’ training camp later this year. Gagne missed the 2013-14 season and previously skated with the Philadelphia Flyers and LA Kings in 2012-13. His career appeared to be winding down over the last several seasons as his offensive production significantly diminished since his 34-goal 2008-09.

This is a pretty nice spot for the Bruins to find themselves in. No one really knows what Gagne has left in the tank, but training camp should answer that pretty quickly. Should Gagne impress, the Bruins will be first in line to hand him a small contract. That contract would be a low-risk, high-reward for the Bruins should Gagne rediscover his scoring touch.
