Top 3 most expensive games for Devils tickets

The New Jersey Devils enter the 2014-15 campaign two years removed from their magical postseason run to the Stanley Cup Finals. Many of the players on that 2012-13 team are now long gone, including stars Zach Parise (signed as a free agent to the Minnesota Wild) and Ilya Kovalchuk (bolted to the KHL of Russia.) Nonetheless, a few players remain from that run, most noticeably forward Patrick Elias and defenseman Andy Greene and bolstered by new faces such as Jaromir Jagr, the Devils are looking to make a run back to the playoffs.

They will have to contend with a very talented Eastern Conference and a very difficult Metropolitan Division. For games at the Prudential Center this year, the highest ticket prices come when their divisional rivals visit Newark. Below is a breakdown of the most expensive games this season at the Prudential Center:

April 7, 2015 vs. New York Rangers | Average Ticket Price = $189 | Get-in Ticket Price = $72

The most expensive game of the season is naturally against the Rangers. New Jersey and New York just met this past week, a game the Rangers came from behind to win 4-3 in overtime. Unfortunately, Devils fans will have to wait over five months for the next home meeting with the blueshirts.

December 29, 2014 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins | Average Ticket Price = $176 | Get-in Ticket Price = $72

Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin venture into Newark on December 29th this season and the average ticket price is currently $176. If you’re a Penguins fan looking to see the game, you’ll find much less expensive tickets for the Devils than in Pittsburgh. And if you’re looking for a hotel near the Prudential Center in Newark, Hipmunk is a great resource and has rates as low as $93.

February 27, 2015 vs. Boston Bruins | Average Ticket Price = $172 | Get-in Ticket Price = $54

The Boston bruins are always a big draw on the road and that’s certainly the case for the Devils this season. This is the only time the Bruins will come to Newark and fans will have to pay a premium to see them on the ice with the average ticket price currently at $172.
