Video: Check shatters the glass, injures fans at ECHL game

Glass shattering at a hockey game is an extremely dangerous situation. It’s actually remarkable that we don’t hear about serious injuries more often considering how many times we’ve seen glass shatter in the lower levels of hockey.

Another scary incident occurred down in the ECHL between the Wichita Thunder and the Quad City Mallards. Todd Fiddler shoved Theo Peckham hard into the boards, shattering the glass on the first few rows of spectators. According to KSN.com, several fans were injured and one was taken out on a stretcher. The article states that the injured fans were being treated for cuts on their hands and faces, but all are expected to make a full recovery.
