Connor McDavid tantalizes in Oilers scrimmage

Connor McDavid tantalized Oilers fans with a scented whiff of what’s to come in October as he scored five of eight goals in an 8-6 victory for the White team over the Blue team. Sure, it was a scrimmage that featured 4-on-4 and 3-on-3 competition, but if this is what we can expect going forward, it’s going to be a lot of fun in Edmonton this season.

The fans are already buying in, as 7,300 fans came to watch McDavid in this scrimmage, which concluded the six day Oilers orientation camp.

“It was fun. Anytime you get a chance to play in front of fans like that, it’s always exciting,” McDavid said. “It was pretty competitive, just with the guys that we had, and they made a lot of great plays out there.”

But it was McDavid that stole the show. And in case you want to dismiss it as just a scrimmage, check out goal number four of McDavid’s five:

That’s filthy. Patrick Kane shootout filthy. And you can check out more of McDavid’s goals here.
