Gary Bettman discusses teams wearing white at home, dark colors on the road

Are you an NHL purist who hopes the league returns to its roots and makes teams wear white at home and dark colors on the road? It turns out you’re not alone as Gary Bettman has revealed that the topic is a hotly contested one during Board of Governors meetings. Unfortunately for those in favor of returning to white uniforms at home, the league has no current plans to change things up.

You’ve got to wonder who is in favor and who is opposed during these conversations. Which teams are fighting so hard to move back to the white uniforms and which believe their colored uniforms are better? Feel free to take some guesses.

As mentioned above, the league has no plans to flip the script.

While there’s no current plan to shake things up, the fact there are “heated” discussions make it sound like there’s a decent number of members in favor of white uniforms at home. Though the room sounds pretty divided, we may eventually reach a time in which the majority is in favor of a change.
