NHL Network analyst Craig Button ridicules Carter Hutton, makes a fool of himself

NHL Network can be a pretty difficult channel to watch depending on the analysts in the room. Craig Button further proved that point after a ridiculous tirade against Nashville goaltender Carter Hutton. Suiting up in place of Pekka Rinne, Hutton was beaten twice over his shoulder by a couple of vintage Ovechkin blasts.

Button blasted Hutton over his inability to stop Ovechkin’s shots over the shoulder. Apparently all you have to do is stand up!

Why is Button taking this so personally? Has he never watched Ovechkin or any of the top scorers in the league? Apparently shutting down the top offensive skaters is as easy as just standing up and refraining from getting in the butterfly. If only all of the goaltenders in the NHL knew of this secret.

It’s actually kind of amazing that this rant lasted as long as it did. It’s as if Button is trying to channel his inner Mike Milbury.

The best part of all of this is Button’s claim that you can’t win by having goaltending this poor. Hutton proved that wrong as the Predators ended up besting the Capitals 4-3.
