Rangers aren’t using capital letters on Twitter for series against the Capitals

You may have noticed something a little strange if you follow the New York Rangers on Twitter. As they prepare for a playoff matchup against the Washington Capitals in the second round, the account suddenly stopped using capital letters in their Tweets. From quotes to news announcements, the social media team has made a concentrated, though unannounced effort against capital letters.

Some caps slip in when mentioning a player’s Twitter handle and in the URLs, but the effort is still there.

And so on.

The best part of all of this is the fact the Rangers never publicly stated they were ditching capital letters. All of the sudden – boom – capital letters stopped appearing in the team’s Tweets. Pretty clever and the crew deserves high marks for not pointing out their joke.
