Video: College hockey player dives to save an empty-net goal

If you don’t follow college hockey, you’re missing out on some truly crazy and exciting games. Take the Miami University – Province College elimination game for example. Province held a 6-2 lead with 13 minutes remaining in the third period. Instead of packing it in, Miami pulled their goaltender and rattled off three goals while their own net sat empty.

With just under a minute to play, the puck went skipping towards Miami’s empty net. Defenseman Louie Belpedio rushed back and dove, miraculously keeping the puck out.

Via CBS Sports:

Insane. What a save!

Miami ultimately fell by a 7-5 score, but you’ve got to give them credit for scoring three goals with an extra attacker and for this incredible save.
