Video: NHL stars surprise sled hockey team, join them for a game

Back in August, the Cruisers Sledge Hockey team agreed to appear in a documentary by Gatorade. Sledge hockey, or sled hockey as it’s referred to in the United States, is an incredible sport and it’s an amazing sight to see in person. The athletes who compete are immensely talented.

The documentary would have been a great story as is, but Gatorade had another idea in mind. While the team was out on the ice, several NHL stars (Crosby, Giroux, Miller, Hartnell, Couture and MacKinnon) came out to surprise the group and join them for a sled hockey game.

The videos below are both fun and inspiring.

As you might imagine, the NHL stars needed some time to get used to playing with two smaller sticks while seated in the sled. However, within time, they actually competed pretty well.
