Brooks Orpik crushed Dan Boyle in Game 7 between the Capitals and Rangers. Boyle entered the zone fairly low and Orpik was there to deliver a crunching check. Was this a clean hit by Orpik? Boyle placed himself in a vulnerable position and Orpik appeared to keep his arm at his side and he didn’t leave his skates, but there was a lot of contact made to the head.
Was this a case of Boyle being in a precarious position and thus a clean hit, or is Orpik at fault?
