Sabres had press conference planned for Babcock, ‘livid’ on how things were handled

With Mike Babcock headed to Toronto to become the head coach, the Buffalo Sabres are quite ticked off about how things were handled over the last few days. The Sabres seemingly had Babcock locked down, but he changed his mind at the last minute and went with the cities closest neighbor. Apparently they were so sure they were going to land him, they had a press conference planned.

I can see why Buffalo would be upset. They thought they had scored the NHL’s biggest coaching free agent, and now they’ve got nothing. It will be interesting to see who they hire instead.
