Here’s a hit the NHL will be reviewing. Ales Hemsky rushed in and turned his body to deliver a check to Jonathan Ericsson. The hit caught Ericsson’s head and smashed it into the glass, causing a gash to open up over the Detroit defenseman’s eye.
As you’d imagine, Ericsson wasn’t too happy and went after Hemsky. The only penalty on the play was a roughing call on Ericsson.
