A little back story for those wondering what the hell happened last night: Henrik Lundqvist set a couple of records last night for the Rangers including most saves in a Rangers uniform and most appearances. So, when he was named first star of the game, a lot of the MSG faithful decided to stick around and congratulate the Swedish goaltender.
As is tradition for some stars, he tossed his stick into the crowd. Fans apparently couldn’t behave themselves.
After this poor display by Rangers fans, reportedly security came down and no one got the historic stick. One can only assume that this stick will show up at a charity auction for Henrik somewhere in the near future.
