Sometimes when you are a team expected to be in the lottery of the NHL draft, when it rains it pours. It would seem that this trend isn’t different for the Toronto Maple Leafs. While playing above their perceived level for now, it is expected that the team will end up near the top of the draft.
Johnathan Bernier is trying to do his part in contributing to the tank.
You almost want to feel bad for Bernier, who is obviously disheveled from what just occurred on the ice. Derek Stepan revealed during his intermission interview that he was trying to short-hop Bernier and play it awkwardly.
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened to Bernier, as evidenced below.
