TQBR Radio 7/22: Gennady Golovkin Vs. Daniel Geale Preview With Steve Janoski

When your average fighter misses a punch, perhaps the opponent might feel a soft draft or breeze. But when Gennady Golovkin misses a punch, 200-foot sinkholes happen — like the one above (via).

With Tyson Fury vs. Dereck Chisora II being canceled, there is a bit more perceived pressure on Golovkin and his foe, Daniel Geale, to put on a good show this weekend on HBO. Boxing fans need immediate gratification, and Golovkin knockouts seem to do the trick quite nicely in these — (pause for dramatic effect) — trying times.

The heavyweight co-feature in Bryant Jennings vs. Mike Perez figures to be interesting, at worst. Bad Left Hook‘s James Foley and TQBR’s Patrick Connor plan on covering that this week, in addition to last weekend’s Macau time-filler that featured Zou Shiming, Guillermo Rigondeaux and Brian Viloria.

Joining Foley and Connor this week is boxing writer and Bad Left Hook contributor Steve Janoski.
