OK, This “Creed” Trailer Is Pretty Good

Maybe any skepticism in these quarters of this new “Creed” film wasn’t warranted after all.

Michael B. Jordan as Apollo Creed’s son (do any of you remember any of his tykes running around in the “Rocky” movies?) looks like he’s going to do good things in the role. A mini-“Wire” union between Avon Barksdale/Wood Harris and Jordan/Wallace — with Harris delivering a pretty heavy line — is worth looking forward to. So, too, is Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa his damn self. (Fans of the current boxing scene: Watch for cameos by Gabriel Rosado and Tony Bellew.)

Will we finally find out what happened in the third fight between Apollo Creed and Rocky? The “Creed” trailer released Tuesday hints we might. It’s a nice tease. It’s a nice trailer. I’m in for Thanksgiving.
