The possession: Cincinnati takes control vs Pittsburgh

Big East play kicked off on Monday with a great matchup between two 12-1 teams: Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. The Bearcats, the road team, were a small underdog. Pitt took it to them in an ugly first half, and led by seven at the break.

But the 2nd half was a cleaner game, and with the improved rhythm the Bearcats were able to make a run. They tied the game with 12:30 to go, and took their first lead two minutes later on a Titus Rubles layup.

They were able to push the lead to as many as ten before Pitt responded. The Panthers scored on four consecutive possessions, and the lead was five.

Cincinnati inbounded the ball with 3:26 on the clock. Pitt wouldn't get it back until 1 minute and 42 seconds had elapsed, and then they were down 7.

Pitt tried to make a run, but there just wasn't enough time left in the game.
