Conference Review and Preview: MEAC

North Carolina Central stormed through the league last year, losing just one conference game (their first, ironically). They also upset NC State, and played Cincinnati and Wichita State tough before ultimately suffering close losses. They lose five Seniors off last year’s team, but only two of them could really be called huge contributors, so Central should be in the running for the MEAC crown once again next season.

Hampton, though, probably assumes the mantle of favorite this year. Despite a relative lack of height, they had the 4th best two point defense in the entire country, and allowed MEAC opponents to shoot just 39.2% inside the arc. If they can improve their offense by even a little bit they could be off to a NC Central like run in 2014-15
