Montana Hires Travis DeCuire to Replace Wayne Tinkle

Former Cal assistant Travis DeCuire is reportedly the new man at Montana, via CBS. DeCuire supposedly wanted the Cal job that went to Cuonzo Martin, but being able to develop as a coach in the Big Sky, at the best program in the conference, will ultimately probably be a better move for his career than immediately jumping into the Cal job.

And it will be at a place with which DeCuire is familiar, as he played at Montana from 1991-94, winning the team MVP twice and making first team all Big Sky twice. He set the school’s single season and career assist marks.

DeCuire was previously an assistant at Old Dominion.
