Robert Carter Transfers to Maryland

Somehow Robert Carter managed to both be the 7th best defensive rebounder in the country but also not able to get on the floor for Georgia Tech, playing under 20 minutes per game for the team finished tied for 11th in the ACC. He’s now heading up the coast a bit, settling on Maryland as the destination to continue his college hoops career. Carter will have to sit out a year before resuming his career.

Carter averaged 11 points per game for the Yellow Jackets, and chose Maryland over St. Johns, South Carolina, and Kansas. An interesting point, pointed out by Maryland blog Testudo Times, is that all of the schools listed as his final candidates except for Kansas were affiliated with Under Armor. One must assume that played a pretty big role in getting his signature.
