The Rundown: February 3

Before we get to the Rundown of tonight's action, here's a quick recap of what happened yesterday since that got lost in the either.

Cincinnati was the only ranked team to win yesterday, albeit ugly. Pittsburgh lost at home to Virginia on a Malcolm Brogdon 3 with 0.4 remaining. Indiana knocked off Michigan behind 27 points, on 7 of 8 from 3, by Yogi Ferrell. UCLA wasn't ranked, but they went to Oregon State and lost to the Beavers. Also, Penn State beat Purdue.

TOP 25

7 PM

Notre Dame at (1) Syracuse – ESPN

Syracuse -12

The Orange are one of two undefeated teams after this weekend. They play host to former Big East rival Notre Dame, who has really struggled this year. the Irish are 12-10, 3-6 in the league. It will be worth watching to see if Syracuse has any kind of let down after the giant game and atmosphere of Saturday. Eric Atkins has been great for ND. He made a game winner this weekend. Syracuse has Tyler Ennis and CJ Fair (pictured) leading the way.

Xavier at (6) Villanova – Fox Sports 1

Villanova -10

This is a pretty big game for the Musketeers after they fell at home to Seton Hall. Villanova is wrapping up a very tough 5 game stand with the start of a two game home stand. Nova has won 3 in a row following the Creighton 3 point barrage. The spread is pretty high but I expect a very competitive game. It wouldn't kill Xavier to lose but they need a good showing. Nova is trying to keep pace with Creighton at the top of the standings.

9 PM

(16) Iowa State at (19) Oklahoma State – ESPN

Oklahoma State -7

The Cowboys have dropped back to back games, 3 of 4 overall, to find themselves at 4-4 in the Big 12. The Cyclones have gone win, loss, win, loss the last four games after going 2-2 to start league play. Iowa State is coming off a win against Oklahoma. I think this is a bigger game for the Cowboys. They hit the road for 3 of 4, with the home game being the Bedlam rematch, after this. Not to say Oklahoma State is in trouble of missing the tournament, they are in some seed trouble. Iowa State has a schedule that has 6 game winning streak written on it after this. It's a house money game for them. Most of the Big 12 Monday games have been a lot of fun. Let's hope this is no exception.

ON TV

7 PM

Hampton at Morgan State – ESPNU

Morgan St -5

The Pirates sit at 6-2 in the MEAC, the Bears 5-2. Hampton is led by Du'Vaughn Maxwell and his 14.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3 blocks per game. Morgan State has Justin Black averaging 17.4 points, 6 boards, 4 assists and 2.6 steals per game.

Georgetown at DePaul – Fox Sports 1

Georgetown -5

The Hoyas look to follow their big win over Michigan State with a win over DePaul. DePaul could actually tie Georgetown at 3-7 in the standings with a win.

Prairie View A&M at Alabama A&M

Alabama A&M – 6

Alabama A&M is 4-4 in the SWAC behind 13 points and 3.7 assists from Jeremy Crutcher. The Panthers are led by gunner Montrael Scott's 16.8 points per game.
