Chane Behanan has informed Jason King that he has begun taking classes online at Colorado State and will be eligible to play for the Rams in December 2014. Iowa State and Missouri get most of the credit for taking transfers and turning them into productive players, but Colorado State should take a backseat to no one when it comes to that department. Colton Iverson never quite got things going at Minnesota, playing fewer than 20 mpg each of his first three years there, but exploded once he enrolled at Colorado State. Iverson made 60% of his shots, drew a ton of fouls, and was the best rebounder on the best rebounding team in the country.

While the circumstances that led to Behanan heading to Colorado State are different (there are many theoies as to why Louisville dismissed him from the team, but I think it would be irresponsible to entertain any of them here), the Rams should be able to get similar impact.

Behanan was the 21st ranked recruit nationally by Rivals in the class of 2011, and has been a very efficient college player. He shot 52% or higher in each of his first two college seasons, and was also an effective rebounder. In limited time this year, Behanan made 63.6% of his twos and had an absurdly high 17% offensive rebound rate. Beyond his impact on the court, hopefully Behanan will get things right pesonally and be able to make a run at a professional career somewhere.
