After winning last year’s national title, you can expect an increase in UConn Huskies tickets in 2014-15. Despite last year’s catalysts Shabazz Napier, DeAndre Daniels, and Niels Giffey all leaving the school, Connecticut residents and fans love their Huskies and will pay top dollar to see them on the hardwood.
Below is a breakdown of the top five most expensive games for UConn mens basketball tickets, according to data provided by Easy Seat, a proud partner of the UConn Huskies.
11/30/2014 vs. Texas Longhorns | Gampel Pavilion | Average Ticket Price = $256 | Get-In Ticket Price = $170
The Big 12 Longhorns visit Gampel Pavilion in the most high profile non-conference matchup on UConn’s schedule this season. According to Easy Seat, this is the most expensive game on the schedule at an average ticket price of $256.
3/01/2015 vs. SMU Mustangs | XL Center | Average Ticket Price = $240 | Get-In Ticket Price = $170
The Mustangs defeated the Huskies last year 64-55 at SMU so the returning players are probably still smarting over that loss. SMU expects to be one of the better teams in the American Athletics Conference this season and you know any team coached by Larry Brown will be fundamentally sound and technically efficient. It will be a difficult game for the Huskies to win and well worth the price.
3/05/2015 vs. Memphis Tigers | Gampel Pavilion | Average Ticket Price = $200 | Get-In Ticket Price = $166
Memphis also expects to be in the thick of the AAC contention this season and will most likely be ranked in the top 25 nationally for most of the year, as they were in 2013-14. Expect the get-in price of $166 to drop pretty significantly as we get closer to game time, but this will remain one of the more in-demand games all year long.
1/10/2015 vs. Cincinnati Bearcats | XL Center | Average Ticket Price = $191 | Get-In Ticket Price = $149
The Bearcats beat UConn at home 63-58 last season, but fell to the Huskies 58-56 in the semifinals of the AAC Tournament. UConn eventually lost to Louisville in the final, but that would be the last game they would lose all season long.
1/25/2015 vs. South Florida Bulls | XL Center | Average Ticket Price = $186 | Get-In Ticket Price = $80
South Florida has always given the Huskies a difficult time and that was certainly the case last year as the Huskies just escaped with a 61-56 win. Expect some significant price drops for this game, but you can also expect a close battle whenever these two teams hit the court.
